Happy Easter...better late than never!

Bot loves Mr. Bean

4/22/14

Comin atcha live from Hays, America - it's me...the Bean, beatin at over 100 beats per minute.  Roughly 2.5X's more than before - lookout world!  Who knew, we sure as heck didn't!  I guess, that's what really blindsided us with this was that I was feeling fine and nobody ever noticed anything until that EKG last Wednesday - what a week!  Anyways, lets just hope this Wednesday goes a little smoother than the last one!
So, again, I apologize for not being very scheduled on updating this badboy but it's sometimes, cumbersome!  If you didn't hear already, I was discharged yesterday after my chest x-ray, echocardiogram, and EKG all checked out.  We were a little hesitant to wander too far away after my last discharge experience last August/September.  As soon as I left that joint, it was time for some retail therapy - my sister and I are quite the shoppers!  Beings how I heart crafts, there was only one place to go - yup, the lobby for hobbyists!  Man did I make the laps in that baby, so much that I might've over done it just a touch!  Shop til ya drop?!  Well, I didn't drop, but I sure did make myself sore!
The five of us bunked up at the donho for one last night as a family just to see how a night would go sans monitors, wires, vital checks, yada yada yada!  It went great...so great that we couldn't wait to split first thing this morning.  I never knew napping in my own bed could be so great!  Overall, I'm still pretty sore, but I'm in good spirits for the most part and love being home to mend!
I can not begin to put into words how much my family and I appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, and support!  We are all very fortunate to have you in our lives!  I'm not going to promise anymore blogs anytime soon as I don't go back until the 3rd of June for a checkup, but if I think about it, well, most likely not - don't hold your breath?!
I love you all!  XOXO, Bean

Just me and my ma

Awesome "usie" dad....IDIOT.

Happy Easter - 2014

Greetings Family & Friends from KCMO!  Sorry for no update last evening...it was one heck of a day!  I'm gonna make this short and sweet!  Didn't really want to go through with the pacemaker procedure but my rhythm was, not...only bout 40 heartbeats per minute.  While I am a lean, mean, fighting machine this was still not acceptable and things were trending the wrong way!  So, started prepping for surgery yesterday bout 11am and went under the knife around 1 bell.  Mom and dad smuggled Gemmie into the picu to nap while I was knifed on - she slept through the whole thing just like me!  My grandparents drove like the wind and managed to not get caught like dad - sorry to throw u under the bus dad!  Needless to say, all went well and my pacemaker is "pacing" as they like to say!  For the most part I take care of the upper chamber firing but need a little assistance should we say with the bottom chamber....member I'm a 2 cycle kind of girl unlike u 4 bangers!  All in all, the docs are pleased, my drain tube is gone and I'm headed back to 4th floor today....we think?!  If all goes well with testing in the maƱana, I may get released tomorrow?  We'll see, been here done this/heard this before!  I appreciate all your prayers and support, my family and I could not do it without you!  I love you and wish you and your families the happiest of Easters!  Peace, out, Bean

Bed Bugs

We HEART donuts!

4/18/14...Good Friday

Here we go...again!  So, 2014 has been rather eventful, especially this week but I'll get to that in a minute!  For those of you that don't know, Gemma and I are going to be big sisters in July!  Gem and I are convinced it's a little sister and her name is Charlie!  Mom and Dad are not necessarily going to give our sibling that legal name but we call the baby Charlie and we're SUPER EXCITED...for now!
With the future addition of Charlie, Gemma and I have begun bunking up!  Which for the most part has gone well - w/ the help of my new big girl bed and Gemmie's new Minnie Mouse sheets.  Pre-school's pimp, I dig tumbling, & I shake it @ dance.
Blablabla, Blablabla.
Fast forward to this week...just another week, so we thought with a "routine" checkup in KC!  Wednesday day trip for my apt with Dr. Kaine and then we get the news!  Apparently, my EKG shows I have what they believe to be a second degree heart block?  Essentially my pulse is around 60 when it should be 80-120 b/c my electrical impulses are not quite pulsating as they should be.  Don't know when this started but I've been acting and feelin finer n frog hair so we were allowed to return home with the understanding that I would probably be coming back for a pacemaker to correct this sometime in the next several weeks!  I was sent home wearing a halter monitor for the next 24 hrs.
Thursday; Doc Kaine calls mom to recommend that I have some bloodwork ran as my meds were adjusted considerably at my last checkup the middle of December.  Hadn't been stuck for awhile and I hadn't missed it!  My #'s didn't look too bad but there were some imbalances which we pray are the reason for my abnormal pulse and maybe I won't need the pacemaker?!  Anyhoo, fedex expressed the monitor back for them to analyze when my team was meeting on Friday morning!  Friday rolls around and Dr Kaine calls as he said while Gem and I were SUPPOSED to be napping!  He said that my heart had actually stopped 2x's during the night with one of those times lasting 2 seconds.  He had met with my electro physiologist, Dr. Shock (that's not really his name, heck I've never met him or her, just sounds good), and they felt I should head to KC tonight, just in case.  So, dad and mom (mostly mom) packed the wagon and we headed east.  I negotiated w/ Dr Kaine that under observation in house over the holiday weekend I be taken off all my meds, just to see what would happen and hopefully straighten this out on my own!  He agreed and said it was the only way we would ever know!  Mom, Charlie, and I are on 4th floor Sutherland tower while dad and Gem are at the donho - atleast for tonight!
WOW - probably more than you wanted to know but there you have it!  Not exactly how I had planned my Easter weekend but it could be worse!  I love you all and appreciate your thoughts and prayers!  Don't forget to thank the man that sits at the right hand of God Almighty - it is by his stripes we are healed, forgiven, and saved.
XOXO, Beanie
